As the Executive Headteacher and on behalf of the children, staff and governors I am very pleased to welcome you to Croxton Kerrial CE Primary school. I am very proud to be Headteacher of our wonderful school, leading a team of committed staff and working closely with families and the community to help our children to reach their full potential and develop a love of life and learning.

We are a small village school surrounded by beautiful rural countryside, close to the historic Belvoir Castle with easy access to a range of local secondary schools, including nearby post- 11 grammar schools. We are located just outside Grantham, Lincolnshire, and near to Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.

We were delighted to become an Academy within Rise Multi-Academy Trust on 1st November 2013. We enjoy very close links with our partner school: Wymondham CE Primary School. We also work closely with our cluster of local Rise Multi Academy Trust schools including Waltham-on-the-Wolds CE Primary School, Redmile CE Primary School and St Mary's in Melton, as well as with other Vale and Rise schools.

Our school is at the heart of the community and we really value the partnership with children, parents and members of the community including the church and village hall.

At Croxton Kerrial we aim to provide a happy, caring, vibrant school that will promote high standards of personal achievement and the opportunity for full social, emotional and spiritual development of all the children in our care.

Our teaching staff include 4 full and part time class teachers, an experienced Early Years support member of staff; and a learning support assistant who also runs our Penguins CReW Club after school facility. Our pupils also benefit from the expertise of visiting sports coaches, all of whom teach with us on a weekly basis and are very much part of the school. We also offer free before school sports sessions for all children. Our before and after school facility supports children and families providing a safe and happy environment and promoting further learning.

We have three classes, of mixed ability and gender, all vertically grouped: Reception, Year 1 and 2, Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6. We have developed a rich curriculum, building on sequential knowledge and developing skills in all aspects of learning including the creative arts, with English and maths central to our work.

We are exceptionally proud of the caring, Christian ethos we share at Croxton Kerrial; our aim is that learning is inspiring, relevant, challenging and most importantly that the children have fun and are happy.

At our school, guided by Christian and British values, we maintain that learning should be an exciting and enjoyable experience for everyone (adults and children); it should be fun and interactive, challenging and celebratory so a love for learning deepens.

We currently comprise of 23 CofE and Community primary schools, Great strides have been made and we are proud of the fact that all our schools are now deemed to be’ Good’ in the eyes of Ofsted. We want, however, for that milestone to be a marker on our journey, rather than the destination itself. Our family of schools are all different shapes and sizes, serving rich and varied communities and that is one of the many things we love about our Trust.
