BBC East Midlands Visits Croxton Kerrial CE Primary School to Celebrate Active Learning with Belvoir Education and Sports Trust
Pupils at Croxton Kerrial CE Primary School were thrilled to welcome BBC East Midlands to their school this week!
The BBC film crew visited to capture our amazing pupils in action with our fantastic sports coach, Mr. Atkins, from the Belvoir Education and Sports Trust (BEST).
Belvoir Education and Sports Trust (BEST) is a local charity that inspires children across the East Midlands to lead healthy, active lives through sport, outdoor learning, and countryside education. Croxton Kerrial CE Primary School is proud to support BEST and share in their mission to help children develop confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of being active.
This special visit celebrated BEST’s recent success in receiving funding from BBC Children in Need, which will enable them to expand their outreach and provide more opportunities for children to enjoy sport and outdoor education. During the BBC filming, pupils showcased their impressive cricket skills, teamwork, and enthusiasm — demonstrating how sport can unite, inspire, and empower young learners.
Amanda Scott, Executive Headteacher of Croxton Kerrial CE Primary School, said:
“We were delighted to welcome BBC East Midlands and to celebrate the wonderful work of Belvoir Education and Sports Trust. Our pupils absolutely loved the experience — their enthusiasm and energy really shone through. At Croxton Kerrial, we believe that physical education and outdoor learning are essential to children’s wellbeing and development, and partnerships like this help our pupils thrive both in and beyond the classroom.”
The partnership between Croxton Kerrial CE Primary School and Belvoir Education and Sports Trust continues to highlight the importance of active learning and community collaboration in education.
