Inspiring a Love for Learning

“Let all that you do be done with love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14

Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Welcome

Executive Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to our website and our school. Our little village primary school is filled with life, love and learning and we hope that a glimpse through these pages helps you to get a sense of this in its many forms.

We are surrounded by beautiful rural countryside, close to the historic Belvoir Castle with ease of access to local secondary schools, including nearby post- 11 grammar schools. We are located just outside Grantham, Lincolnshire, and near to Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire; both towns having access to national railways. We have strong links with our local community including the church and partnership schools; we are proud to be part of the Vale School Cluster which includes the nearby schools of Redmile, Waltham-on-the-Wolds and Wymondham (all Church of England Primary Schools).

Croxton Kerrial is a friendly, welcoming school that can cater for up to 84 pupils aged 4 to 11 and has a thriving before and after school childcare facility. We have maintained high standards, achieving excellent results that are often above national averages, which has been reflected in the good grade awarded to the school by Ofsted (2019).

We were delighted to become an Academy within the Rise Multi Academy Trust on 1st November 2013.

Our teaching staff includes two full-time class teachers; two part-time, job-share teachers; a Head of School; two experienced Early Years support staff; and two learning support assistants. Our pupils also benefit from the expertise of visiting music teachers and sports coaches, all of whom teach with us on a weekly basis and are very much part of the school. We also have a number of assistants and leaders who run our Penguins CReW Club extended school facility, school office and lunchtime supervision.

We have three classes, of mixed ability and gender, all vertically grouped: Reception, Year 1 and 2, Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6. We have developed a rich curriculum, building on sequential knowledge and developing skills in all aspects of learning including the creative arts, with literacy and numeracy central to our work.

At Croxton Kerrial, we aim to provide a happy, caring, vibrant school that will promote high standards of personal achievement and the opportunity for full social, emotional and spiritual development of all the children in our care.

As a Church School we not only encourage our pupils to strive for excellence in the core subjects, but to broaden their education, to embrace and develop the concepts of faith and spirituality, of hope and charity and to enable them to develop into knowledgeable world citizens who love life and learning.

We are exceptionally proud of the caring, family-orientated Christian ethos we share at Croxton Kerrial; it is what makes us special.

If you are a prospective parent looking for an admission place for your child, please contact us as we would be pleased to show you around.
