Inspiring a Love for Learning

“Let all that you do be done with love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14

Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Tropical Fish

The children in Class One were lucky enough to win a competition to take part in The Fish Keeper Fry program being run by a local garden centre for schools.

We were provided with a fish tank and all the necessary equipment. We spent time learning how to care for fish ready for the arrival of the new little additions! It was so exciting! Everyone loved having the fish in their classroom. The children named them all, spent time learning about the fish and the areas of the world where they come from.  After the 8 week program they were able to keep the fish.

The children had a special 'fish' activity day where they worked in small groups accessing many different activities.  A marine biologist came in to talk to them and even brought some snorkeling equipment to try on! He showed the children videos of sea creatures like sharks and stingrays and he answered lots of questions.

The children made some shortbread biscuits in the shape of fish and decorated them. It was fun making fish with 3D scales that looked beautiful when we put them on the walls in our classroom.
